The Board works with teachers, employers, and other authorities such as police, to ensure teachers working in the Territory are fit and proper persons and competent to teach. To achieve this, teachers and employers are required to notify the Board of certain changes and events. It is an offence if notifications are not made as required by the Teacher Registration (Northern Territory) Act 2004 (the Act).
If you are a registered teacher or a person authorised to teach you are legally required under the Act to notify the Board of certain changes in your circumstances.
